The Orava Quartet return on tour to Canada with summer festivals in Québec and Ottawa, in a repeat of their successful 2019 tour, supported by the ACF and the Australia Council.
Concerts include at Festival Stradivaria, taking place throughout the month of July in multiple idyllic locations around regional Québec, with a performance of Brahms’ Piano Quintet alongside celebrated pianist, Olga Kern – with whom the Orava Quartet performed at Musica Viva’s Huntington Estate Music Festival back in 2017.
The Orava Quartet were thrilled to be invited back to Ottawa’s Music and Beyond / Musique et Autres Mondes festival, where they performed Peter Sculthorpe’s evocative String Quartet no.9, Schulhoff’s String Quartet no.1 and Five pieces for String Quartet, Pavel Fischer’s String Quartet no.3 (‘Mad Piper’), Mendelssohn’s String Quartet no.2 in A minor, and Borodin’s String Quartet no.2.

With a European tour pencilled for 2025, for now, you can catch the Orava Quartet on their return to Australia with several performances still to come this year – including: Brisbane Festival, Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival, Bangalow Music Festival (NSW), ‘Nocturne’ concerts presented by Camerata in Brisbane and Toowoomba, Sydney Mozart Society (at The Concourse, Sydney), and more.
