Cinque is thrilled to have three of its artists nominated in Limelight’s 2024 Artist of the Year awards:
World-renowned Australian composer/pianist Elena Kats-Chernin AO who has both her first-ever violin concerto, and her original music for ‘Memoir of a Snail’, the award-winning feature animation film by Oscar-winning director, Adam Elliott, released on ABC Classic this year;
Extraordinary Australian pianist Andrea Lam, regular concerto soloist with the Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland Symphony orchestras this year, standout expert host on the 2025 ABC TV series ‘The Piano‘ (more on this to come…) and whose hypnotic debut solo album, SAD PIANO (ABC Classic) featuring the music of another of Australia’s leading composers, Matthew Hindson, is released this month;
Critically acclaimed Australian flute soloist, Sally Walker, whose stunning Boccherini album on AVIE this year earned 4.5 and 5 stars out of 5 in reviews from BBC Music Magazine, The Australian, Limelight, 5MBS radio magazine and more, and who is the Canberra Symphony Orchestra’s 2025 Artist in Focus, with a series of performances (including Elena Kats-Chernin’s Night and Now flute concerto) as soloist, as well as the highly anticipated world premiere of a new flute concerto by brilliant young composer, Alex Turley (with the Geelong Symphony Orchestra).
Anyone is welcome to cast their vote from now until 5 January 2025, with the winner of the Australian Artist of the Year, and the International Artist of the Year, announced on 3 February 2025.
