Peggy Glanvoille Hicks Address featuring Elena Kats-Chernin

The 2023 Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address will be delivered by Elena Kats-Chernin AO, on Monday 9 October 2023.

One of Australia’s greatest living composers, Elena Kats-Chernin has forged a formidable musical career, having composed in nearly every genre, including music for orchestra, chamber ensemble, choirs, as well as for film, theatre, and dance. Her piano pieces are popular with students of the instrument in Australia and overseas.

This year’s Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address will provide a forum for Elena to share her rich perspectives and unique experiences as a composer today.

The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address will be accompanied by a live performance of Elena’s work, Chamber of Horrors, by harpist Emily Granger.
